Dannielle Ryan has been a shining star for the Health Department at TAFE Gippsland.
She was initially employed as the Placement Coordinator, Health and Nursing, and it was for this role that she received her 2020 award. Dannielle has since been appointed into a new role as Course Coordinator for Health, Nursing, Early Childhood and Education, which is well and truly deserved for all of her hard work.
Dannielle has been instrumental in creating an improved process for our Health and Nursing program placements. She represented TAFE Gippsland on a panel to decide on a standardised placement system for all Victorian TAFEs. The panel were able to identify a solution for a placement platform that streamlines the overall experience and process for RTOs, students and industry.
In addition to this platform, Dannielle has developed new placement resources including assessment booklets, revised documentation and a placement hub on Moodle - our student learning platform - which gives staff and students greater visibility of student placement progress.
She has significantly improved TAFE Gippsland’s relationship with industry by creating a process where she combines her excellent communication skills and attention to detail with timely responses and a friendly manner. She has successfully secured over 1,000 placements over a 12-month period.
The rapport with her peers, efficient work ethic and approachable personality have made her a very worthy recipient of the Staff Member (Non-Teaching) of the Year Award 2020 for Health. We look forward to seeing the great things Dannielle Ryan will do in her new role.
