Bairnsdale VCAL student David Fitzgerald is no stranger to awards having been awarded Student of the Year Award in 2018 and also a proud recipient of a Long Tan Award as well.
His Secondary Student of the Year award in 2020 recognises his excellence over the past 12 months and over recent years, during which David not only completed VCAL Intermediate level to an exceptionally high standard, he also completed Certificate III in Horticulture.
The Bairnsdale student is currently enrolled in VCAL Senior and Certificate II Small Business, and he is well known for being a productive team member, working well with others, following instructions and striving to do his very best at all times.
David’s teamwork and communication skills make him a highly valued member of our student cohort at TAFE Gippsland, and he always presents well, never failing to represent TAFE Gippsland in the very best way possible.
In addition to his academic achievements, David has started his own small business – Gutso’s Organics’ – where he grows vegetables at home and sells them to TAFE Gippsland staff. Monday mornings will find David on his rounds where he cheerfully delivers fresh produce to his eager and dedicated clientele.
David’s academic efforts and results, together with his respectful attitude at all times, make him a model student and a very worthy recipient of Secondary Student of the Year for 2020.
