Margaret North has hit her vocational studies out of the park and has already landed employment in her chosen field.
As a mother and a student, Margaret used this to her advantage during her studies as she played a crucial role in her Diploma of Community Services course at our Traralgon campus. She supported other students academically as well as offering emotional support. She was always professional, shared ideas in an intelligent and thought-out way and embraced diversity.
Margaret was determined to achieve success for herself in her studies but always ensured others were encouraged and motivated to do the same. She was always, and still is, respectful and supportive of her teachers too.
Even though she added all these tasks to her plate, Margaret completed with a distinction average score. She completed her placement at VACCA and has since gained employment there.
To take it one step further, and because we never stop learning, Margaret has enrolled in the Certificate IV in Mental Health. This will help her to further her knowledge in the sector and to better assist her clients.
Margaret’s passion to work with the community, her personal and professional ethics and her ability to keep boundaries have made her an outstanding recipient of the Vocational Student of the Year Award 2020 for Community Services.
