TAFE Gippsland’s staff and students are doing their bit to call out gender-based violence in 2022, in support of this year’s 16 Days of Activism campaign.
This year’s Respect Women: Call it Out campaign, commences on Friday 25 November and will run through to Saturday 10 December across TAFE Gippsland’s major campuses. There will be opportunities to grab yourself some free 1800 RESPECT resources and find out how you can help make a difference and encourage action to end gender-based violence in our communities.
TAFE Gippsland CEO Laura Macpherson said the campaign is a great reminder of the need for us all to step up and call out gender-based violence, everywhere.
“We all have a responsibility to call out gender drivers of violence everywhere: on our TAFE campuses, in schools and universities, online and in our homes and workplaces,” Laura said.
“It’s so important we come together as a community and support this campaign and work towards gender equality. We have much work to do in this area and this campaign reminds us that together we can make positive change as there is nothing more important than the health and safety of our community.”
As part of this year’s campaign, TAFE Gippsland will be hosting a number of stalls all week long at its campuses in Sale, Morwell, Yallourn, Warragul, Bairnsdale, Leongatha and Traralgon, where students can come along and find out more about how they can help make a difference. There will be some useful 1800 RESPECT resources there for students to take home and share with their family and friends and a chance to join in several events happening around the region.
